For reading this week we had to create a poster that had less then 20 words. I chose to create my poster about how we should keep NZ clean for other country to follow. If we keep NZ clean and green then other country might follow in our way and help reduce climate change and global warming. I hope you like it.
I am a student at St Francis of Assisi Catholic School. This is a place where I will be able to share my learning with you. Please note....some work won't be edited - just my first drafts, so there may be some surface errors. I would love your feedback, comments, thoughts and ideas.

Be You
For reading this week we were looking at what a community is and what it means to be in a community. We looked at the advantages and disadvantages of being in a community. 3 benefits of being in a community is that there are people that can support you. You are never alone. You can make new friends and care of each other. We then read about a man who lived alone on a island in Italy for 32 years. He said that he liked living alone because it isn't like in the city, and he gets to look after the environment and can learn new things. After reading this article we then got to choose out of 2 create options. One option was to create a Be poem. Or create a event for your community. I decided to create my own be poem. The be poem is inspired by the beatitudes. Here is my own unique version enjoy.
What do you think it means to be in a community?

Straws invented that stop hiccups.
Hello everyone this bog post is about different Genres finding shapes and making a better title. We had to choose three articles to write about.
Straws Invented that stop hiccups-Genre Interesting Article My Thoughts on this Article This would be such a great Idea but they are a lot of money just to buy 1 straw. It would be very useful when you needed them. This article interested me the most because of the title and what it was about. Who would pay that much money for a straw that stops hiccups it is a good idea but to much Money.
Words best Water goes to Australian town - International My thoughts on this Article This Article caught my eye because of the title. I wonder if it really is the best water in the world. If it is I wonder why it was given to an Australian town. I mean it would problem be great to have the beast water in the world but then again water is water in the end.
Worlds largest suspension bridge- interesting Article My thoughts on this article This is so cool. Imagine you walked on the longest suspension bridge in the world. It would be quite scary though.I wonder if it shakes. I mean imagine how high up you would be. If you had a fear of heights it wouldn't be good at all. I wonder how long it is.
What is your favourite Article?

Wicked Writing
For Writing this week we had to write a poem about something in Christchurch or about Christchurch itself. I choose to write a poem about A place I go to a lot. Sumner Beach. We also had to include something to do with Ngh tahu Here is my poem.
Sumner Beach is a place filled with fun, where you can enjoy a swim in the sun. Climb the rocks and hunt for crabs well the waves crash and slimy seaweed jumps up into the air. Get fish and chips then eat them quick before the seagulls snatch it .
Watch the surfers down below battling the rough waves and the sea foam. Get an ice cream then eat fast before the summer sun melts it. Then dip your feet into the sea where the Maori once sailed and found this land we now call home. Sumner beach is a place filled with fun but is best enjoyed with the people you love.
What would you choose to write about?

Rad Reading
For reading this week we had to create a plan about one thing we would put in Christchurch if we had lots of money. We had to incorporate Some to do with New Zealand. Me and Lakia choose to do a ice skating rink. The Ice skating rink would have 32 seats for so that you could watch form the sidelines. There would be a safety barrier in case of a emergency. On the roof there would be a glass house with all of New Zealand's native plants and animals. There would be a shop where you could buy some of the plant's. Here is our ice skating rink.
If you had lot's of money what would you build for Christchurch?
Amazing Maths
For maths this week we had to collect data and make a chart. We could choose any question we wanted. My question was: What is your favourite winter sport to play? We had to put our data in a chart suitable for the data. I choose to do a bar graph.
