Rad Reading

For reading this week we had to create a plan about one thing we would put in Christchurch if we had lots of money. We  had to incorporate Some to do with New Zealand. Me and Lakia choose to do a ice skating rink. The Ice skating rink would have 32 seats for so that you could watch form the sidelines. There would be a safety barrier in case of a emergency. On the roof there would be a glass house with all of New Zealand's native plants and animals. There would be a shop where you could buy some of the plant's.            Here is our ice skating rink.

If you had lot's of money what would you build for Christchurch?

Amazing Maths

For maths this week we had to collect data and make a chart. We could choose any question we wanted. My question was: What is your favourite winter sport to play? We had to put our data in a chart suitable for the data. I choose to do a bar graph.

Here is my graph.

What is your favourite winter sport?

Rad Reading

Hello everyone, for Reading this week we had to read 2 books and take notes. The 1 book that I read was Amazing Ideas, then I read Life in Aotearoa New Zealand. I found reading these 2 books interesting. I learnt in Amazing ideas that people wanted to have something that was weatherproof and in Life in Aotearoa New Zealand That New Zealand wildlife is part of who we are now. Here are my Notes I hope you learned something new:)

Book: Amazing Ideas

  • They asked their community what they would want.

  • The girls felt that since the earthquake happened there were not many places for people to meet.

  • They wanted a cultural aspect. They wanted it to be Eco friendly.

  • They wanted something weather proof.

Book 2: Life in Aotearoa New Zealand.

  • Lots of plants and Animals only live here.

  • New Zealand started breaking apart from Gondwana 80 million years ago.

  •  New Zealand is the land of flightless birds.

  • New Zealand wildlife is part of who we are now.

  • We call ourselves kiwis. We use silver ferns and other native plants for national sport teams.

Did you know that we brought in new wildlife but didn’t let them adopt?

Did you learn something new?

Amelia's Rescue Mission

This week for maths we had use coordinates and directions to save Ōnawe Pa. We used my maps to create a map with coordinates and directions to get from Kaiapoi Pa and Ōnawe Pa. The distance was 67.5km. The coordinate for Kaiapoi Pa is 43.225'S 172.392'e and Ōnawe Pa is 43.774's 172.925'E. Here is my map that I created.

Could you find out another way to get to there?
